The Microaces Sopwith Pup kit replicates the famous mid war fighter built by the Sopwith Aviation Company. A highly regarded aircraft for its handling and manoeuverability, that proved successful in the skies of Europe between 1916-17.
This particular kit represents Sopwith Pup N6172, nicknamed Black Tulip.
On April 12th 1917, Flight Lt. Robin Mack was forced down by Paul von Osterroht (Jasta 12) and his Pup Black Tulip was captured intact and re-painted in German markings.
There are records of both Allied and German forces capturing and re-painting enemy aircraft to assess the opposing designs, technology and handling. Black Tulip is a fitting representation of this practice, and a great way to confuse your fellow fliers and observers until you explain!
Included in this multi-media kit is a vac-formed cowl and spinning dummy rotary engine kit. The resulting model has an incredible level of mechanical and visual detail that look great on display but even better when airborne.

This Microaces kit is supplied 'as standard' with the most suitable Microaces motor/gearbox and propeller combination for the model.
To complete the kit for radio controlled flight, all you need is an All In One (AIO) Receiver that's compatible with your transmitter.
