Mike Goldby's Sopwith PUP
This July the British Model Flying Association (BMFA) hosts the FAI F4 World Scale Championships at their site in Buckminster, Leicestershire. The first time since 1978 that the event has been held on UK soil.
To celebrate this auspicious occasion the BMFA and Microaces have collaborated to create a scale model of a scale model, built, flown and campaigned by the man who was the catalyst to bringing the World Scale Championships back to the UK: Mike Goldby.
The Microaces kit
This Special Edition Sopwith PUP kit is representative of the quarter scale aircraft Mike built from Mick Reeve's plans and competed with at the Championships in Poland in 2004. The kit also includes the LePrieur Rockets Mike added to his model to enhance its scale appeal.
Also included is a vac-formed cowl and spinning dummy rotary engine kit. The resulting model has an incredible level of mechanical and visual detail that looks great on display but even better when airborne.
The box content also includes a written tribute to Mike Goldby from his friend and Chairman of the BMFA, Ian Pallister FSMAE.

This Microaces kit is supplied 'as standard' with the most suitable Microaces motor/gearbox and propeller combination for the model.
And being a Limited Edition Kit, it also comes with the Le Prieur Rocket Pack for the PUP and a printed tribute to Mike Goldby.
To complete the kit for radio controlled flight, all you need is an All In One (AIO) Receiver that's compatible with your transmitter.
