Messerschmitt Bf109E (Emil)
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E, affectionately known as the "Emil," served as the Luftwaffe's premier frontline fighter during the pivotal Battle of Britain.
It featured an advanced all-metal monocoque design, enclosed canopy, retractable landing gear, and automatic leading-edge slats for enhanced low-speed handling.
Powered by a fuel-injected Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine, it gained a significant tactical advantage by maintaining constant power during negative-G maneuvers.
Reknowned aces Adolf Galland and Helmut Wick both flew the Bf109E, establishing themselves among Germany's highest scoring pilots of the campaign.
The Microaces Messerschmitt Bf109E kit builds into a stunning 1/20th scale model with a 495mm (19.5”) wingspan, manually retractable scale undercarriage and fully functional ailerons, elevator and rudder.
The Kit comprises of sheets of laser cut 2mm foam that makes up the majority of the airframe (fuselage, wings and tail), sheets of pre-printed and pre-cut Tyvek that forms the highly detailed skin of the aircraft plus a whole host of other parts including resin 3D printed details including pilot, vac formed reinforcement components, laser cut plywood, carbon fibre, magnets, control wires and 5" propellor.
Also included in the kit are 4 micro servos and brushless motor.
